CS2 & CS:GO Callouts

Below is Total CS' collection of all CS:GO and CS2 callouts from popular and Active Duty maps. Our extensive database currently contains a grand total of 383 callout names from 8 maps.

Unlike other places to view callouts, Total CS's callout database is accurate for the latest versions of maps (e.g. Cobblestone's recent update). Furthermore, our callout maps are interactive, offering a list of other common names for a specific location, and a verbal description of where a callout refers to.

Callouts are words or phrases used to refer to specific areas of the map in communication with your team. For example, the callout for the place when the bomb is planted at B is "B Site", and the callout for where the terrorist team spawn is "T Spawn" - these are very simple and non-specific examples, but they should give you an idea of what a callout is. Learning most (or even better, all) of the callouts for the main maps in CS:GO or CS2 can improve your gameplay. You'll be able to better understand what your teammates are telling you, and your teammates will also be able to better understand your calls, leading to clearer and more concise communication throughout.

Ancient is one of the newer additions to CS:GO's Active Duty map pool. It is a bomb defusal map set at an Aztec archaeological site located deep within a rainforest. A notable characteristic of this map is that both of the bombsites are coloured very distinctively: A Site is orange and B Site is pale blue.

Cache is a bomb defusal (demolition) map that was introduced to Counter-Strike: Source 8 years ago, after having been designed and developed by Sal "Volcano" Garozzo. It's set in Chernobyl, Ukraine. Whilst the weather is sunny, the map has a very dull feel to it, probably created in large by the assortment of gray buildings and bunkers that make up its surroundings. Cache is relatively balanced for both the Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, leaning slightly in the favor of the CTs in high-level games.

Dust II is the most iconic bomb defusal map in Counter-Strike, and a favorite of many CS:GO players. It was first brought into the series through the original Counter-Strike game, where it was added in 2001. Due to its massive popularity, Dust II is the map that many new players will learn callouts on first, most of which are quite simple and easy to learn. The map is considered to be very evenly balanced between the Terrorist and Counter Terrorist teams.

Inferno is a bomb defusal map located in Italy that has been a classic to play on since its addition in the very earliest days of Counter-Strike. It is one of the maps in CS:GO to have gone through a rehaul to its look and textures since the game's release. Seen unanimously as a CT-sided map, Inferno has the most callouts we've detailed across all CS:GO maps, so it's one to get learning if you aren't already familiar with it!

Mirage comes in after Dust II as perhaps the most iconic bomb defusal map in CS:GO. It is set in a middle-eastern town, which is thought to be Morroco, and is one of the most commonly played maps by CS:GO players. It is generally agreed by the community that Mirage lends its favor as being a CT-sided map, and is a map that has been present for a long time in the Counter-Strike series, despite being added to CS:GO shortly after the game's release.

Nuke is a bomb defusal map that has existed in the series since Counter-Strike 1.6. Set in the United States, Nuke is a unique map due to it having two levels, or floors: upper, and lower. This makes it particularly key to nail all of the callouts on the map. The complex nature and narrow entrance points to securing either of the bombsites work towards making this a CT-sided map, perhaps the most CT-sided map in common rotation.

Overpass is a bomb defusal map set in Germany, and one of the rare popular maps in CS:GO that was added to this version of the game only, rather than being carried over from older Counter-Strike versions. As most maps are, Overpass is seen as a map where the Counter Terrorist side has the advantage. Its multi-layered structure make some of the callouts very key to get correct, so it's worth brushing up on your knowledge here!

Train is an old-school bomb defusal map in the Counter-Strike series, appearing as far back as CS 1.6. It is set in Russia, and is seen as one of the more advanced maps to master in its playstyle and callouts. It is known as one of the maps with the most clear divide between which of the Terrorists or Counter Terrorists are favored, as it is widely agreed that the CT side is much easier to play on.

Vertigo is one of the newest additions to CS:GO's competitive Active Duty map pool. It is a demolition (bomb defusal) map set close to the top of a skyscraper that's still under construction. Unlike most other CS:GO maps, it's possible to fall off this map (and from such a height, there's no chance of surviving). Both A Site and B Site are located on the top floor of this map.
